Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)

Glucose below about 70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L), which can need fast treatment.

Hypoglycemia is glucose that has dropped too low: generally under 70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L), with readings below 54 considered more serious. Symptoms can include shakiness, sweating, confusion, and hunger.

The usual response is fast-acting carbohydrate, then a recheck. If you take glucose-lowering medication, your care plan should spell out exactly what to do.
