Type 2 diabetes

A condition where the body resists insulin and blood glucose stays elevated over time.

In type 2 diabetes the body's cells respond poorly to insulin and the pancreas can't fully keep up, so glucose builds up in the blood. It develops gradually and is strongly linked to insulin resistance; it's usually diagnosed with an A1C of 6.5% or higher.

It's often managed (and sometimes put into remission) with food choices, movement, weight change, and medication. Tracking your readings and time in range shows whether the day-to-day approach is working.
