Prediabetes

Glucose higher than typical but below the diabetes threshold, often reversible.

Prediabetes means glucose is elevated but not yet in the diabetes range: an A1C of 5.7–6.4%, or fasting glucose of 100–125 mg/dL (5.6–6.9 mmol/L). It often has no symptoms.

It's a signal, not a sentence: many people return to typical ranges through changes in diet, movement, and weight.
