Insulin sensitivity

How readily your cells respond to insulin: the favorable opposite of insulin resistance.

Insulin sensitivity describes how effectively your cells take up glucose in response to insulin. When sensitivity is high, a small amount of insulin does the job and glucose clears quickly; when it's low (insulin resistance), the body needs more insulin to get the same effect.

Sleep, regular movement, muscle mass, and weight all shift it. A gentler post-meal rise and tighter variability over time can be signs that sensitivity is improving.
