GMI (Glucose Management Indicator)
An A1C-like estimate calculated from your average glucose readings rather than a blood draw.
The Glucose Management Indicator converts your mean glucose into an A1C-style percentage using a published formula (GMI = 3.31 + 0.02392 × mean mg/dL). It lets you see a familiar number between lab visits.
GMI and a lab A1C often differ by a few tenths of a percent; they measure related but not identical things. A gap between them is normal and can itself be informative.
