How we count

Our methodology shows how we calculate your numbers. This page shows how we count our own: every figure SteadyRange publishes about itself, what one count is, and when a figure is allowed to appear.

The rules

Counted by the software, not estimated

Every count is one row written by the running service at the moment the event happens. Nothing is rounded up, projected or backfilled: counting began on 29 September 2026, and anything that happened before that date is not in any number.

Hidden until it means something

A counter appears on the homepage only once it reaches the floor listed below. A small number is not a secret, but a count of two would describe individual members more than it describes the product, so it waits.

Nobody is identifiable in a count

A counted event stores only its kind, a time and a keyed hash of what makes it unique (a member and a day, a link and a day). It holds no user ID, email or reading, and the hash cannot be reversed without the server secret. Deleting an account does not un-count its past events, and nothing in them points back to it.

Our own accounts are excluded

Team accounts used for development and testing are excluded from every counter. Sample data and the public demo never produce a count.

Quotes are real or absent

Any patient or clinician quote on this site was given by that person, with their written permission to publish it, and is shown in their words. We do not write testimonials, composite them or edit their meaning. Where we have none yet, the space is empty.

The counters

Counted automatically since 29 September 2026. Figures refresh hourly.

reports generatedNot shown until it reaches 25: One per member per day on which they created an appointment report with at least one reading, dose or note in it. Downloading the same report five times that day counts once.
reports opened by cliniciansNot shown until it reaches 10: One per private clinician link per day on which it was opened. Opens by the member who owns the link while signed in, and link-preview bots in messaging apps, are not counted.
days loggedNot shown until it reaches 100: One per member per day on which they saved at least one glucose reading, weight, blood pressure, activity or dose by hand. Sample data and automatic device syncs do not count.
QR scansNot shown until it reaches 10: One per device per day that opened the QR code printed on a free report or on our clinic waiting-room handout. The device is identified only by a keyed hash of its network address and browser, neither of which is stored. Two identical phones on the same network on the same day count once. Published here only, not on the homepage.
reports used in a visitNot shown until it reaches 10: One per appointment where the member answered “yes, we looked at it together” to our day-after email. Self-reported, asked once per visit and only when a report was made for it; the first answer is final, and visits nobody answered for are not counted. Published here only, not on the homepage.

The number we care about most

SteadyRange exists for the appointment, so the figure that matters is how many reports are actually put in front of a clinician. Software cannot see an exam room, so we never estimate it. We ask instead: the day after a visit a member made a report for, we send one email asking whether it was used, and count only the people who say yes. Clinician link opens and QR scans sit alongside it as the signals we can observe, each labeled as exactly what it is.
